Jules celebrated her 55th birthday with her closest friends doing the activity that matters most to her – volunteering her time to reelect President Barack Obama.
If we elect President Obama a second time, we allow him to finish what we’ve started, especially in regards to green energy, women’s rights and job creation. Once I realized I could do more than just vote, that's when I started volunteering and encouraging my friends to join me. I know that they care about this election as much as I do, so I figured phone banking for my birthday would be a great way to spend time together and make a difference at the same time.
Jules' friends shared her sentiments about what a great idea it was to celebrate her birthday by volunteering to make a difference in their community.
I signed up for shifts to phone bank before the election, but I came tonight especially to celebrate Jules’s birthday. I think what Barack Obama’s doing to protect women’s rights and LGBT rights matters. This was a great idea. – Molly
It’s really easy to phone bank, and it was something I wanted to do, so this was a good reason to get out and volunteer. If you’re going to encourage innovation in an economy, you need to make a system where people aren’t tied to their jobs out of the fear of losing their healthcare. And Barack Obama agrees with that. This is a great way to celebrate a birthday and a great way to make sure Barack Obama stays in office. – Sarah
