While everyone was talking about our opponent this week, our volunteers kept at the same strategy we launched a year ago – building a groundswell of support for President Obama in neighborhoods like Detroit’s East Side and South Lansing.
Want proof of how our movement has grown? This Monday and Tuesday, we’re opening new field offices in Lansing and Sterling Heights, respectively. Our neighborhood team leaders have worked tirelessly to empower members of their community to turn support for President Obama’s accomplishments into action – and it shows when new volunteers can barely fit in the room.
These new spaces will serve as the central nerve for these neighborhood teams as they continue to expand. Telling our stories of why policies like the Affordable Care Act and the auto rescue have made our lives better here in Michigan and turning that into more feet on the ground is truly what’s going to bring us to victory this November.
I hope to see you at one of our office openings next week – and if you can’t make it, say you’re ready to be a part of this movement today.
