Hundreds of top Maryland Democratic leaders gathered on Saturday in Western Maryland for the 7th Annual Western Maryland Democratic Summit. Held annually in Flintstone, and hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party, the event brought together some of the state party’s most powerful members.
Opening remarks were given by Caucus Chair Tom Slater, and Maryland Democratic Party Chairman Peter O’Malley who thanked all those in attendance and promised a great summit.
Following a breakout session, Governor Martin O’Malley and Lt. Governor Anthony Brown addressed Maryland’s top Democratic elected officials on ways to move Maryland forward.
Maryland State Director for Organizing for America Jason Waskey spoke to a full room about methods and strategies for re-electing President Obama in 2012. By his side was 6th District Liason Ellen West, who took some questions regarding day to day efforts and ways to most effectively support the President.
