Yesterday marked 365 days until the 2012 presidential election. Obama for America supporters are holding more than 2,100 events across the country over a 5-day period as we expand our organization and ramp up our mobilization efforts. Volunteers nationwide are knocking on doors, tabling at public events, making phone calls and registering new voters while we work to build the biggest grassroots network that politics has ever seen.
Here in South Carolina on Saturday, our Lowcountry office hosted a phone bank where volunteers like Mattese L. made calls to connect with voters about the clear choice in this election and inform them about the campaign's local activities and opportunities to get involved. Maryann W., a Richland County Neighborhood Team Leader, also hosted a phone bank with her growing team in Columbia.
Down in Jasper County, our Neighborhood Team held an event Sunday to rally local volunteers and supporters, where they registered voters, collected "I'm in" cards and worked to ensure that the people of Jasper County know the facts and get to the polls on November 6, 2012.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who participated in the Weekend of Action. Keep up the great work!
