In his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, a little known State Senator from Illinois stated:
“It is that fundamental belief: I am my brother’s keeper. I am my sister’s keeper that makes this country work. It’s what allows us to pursue our individual dreams and yet still come together as one American family.”
In his speech, then State Senator Obama articulated his vision for how we, as a nation, could come together, pick each other up, and help each other. Just as was implied in the 2004 speech heard around the world, the Obama Campaign in South Carolina is working hard to cross borders and help our Northern neighbors.
Through phone banks and voter registration trips we are reaching out and helping to identify supporters in North Carolina. Check out some photos from some of the latest trips and join in the fun by finding an event near you. Also remember, that this Saturday, August 18th ends your chance to earn a credential to see President Obama accept the nomination at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC on September 6th.
