This past Monday, volunteers were out in force to honor working men and women at Labor Day events. As I looked around at the dozens of supporters lining up for the Milford Labor Day Parade, I was energized to get back into the field and to let people know about the work our volunteers are doing on the ground for Obama 2012.
My story starts long before this year. As a strong supporter of reproductive rights, I started volunteering with NARAL in high school and have worked for candidates and for organizations that advocate for women ever since. I am here today because I know that re-electing Barack Obama is the best way to support women's rights in the United States and around the world.
As a former staffer for the Clinton campaign in New Hampshire in 2008, it is great to reconnect with volunteers and voters I worked with and to get them involved in the Obama campaign this year. And I love being reminded of how incredibly generous people are here. My story of how I came to this campaign is just one of many. Each of us has our own reason as to why we are here.
I would love to sit down with you and discuss your reasons for supporting Barack Obama in 2012 and how you can be involved in your community. I’m excited for the work ahead and hope you will join us in building this campaign in New Hampshire.
