Q1. In 50 words or less, please describe yourself…
I am a young Mexican-American, who became active in politics after college. I care about my community and I want to see it thrive. I work hard for change and I do it all with a smile on my face.
Q2. Of all of President Obama’s policies, which has affected you the most personally?
I have many friends who were affected by President Obama’s executive order to grant work permits to undocumented workers. Also, I’ll be covered by my father’s insurance until I am 26. This coverage takes a lot of pressure off of me as I begin my career.
President Obama has done great things for this country and for people in my position. He doubled Pell grants and established a health care plan. He works for the American people and the growth of our country. Simply put, Barack Obama is the best man for the job.
Q3. What are you doing to support Barack Obama’s re-election effort?
I had never done any of this type of work before I started. But I started as a Summer Organizing Fellow, and now I am organizing neighborhood teams in one of New Mexico’s most important areas. I joined the campaign because I wanted to make a difference. Every day, I feel like I’m really doing something important for this country.
The Organizing for America New Mexico fellowship has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Q4. What advice would you give to someone who is maybe unsure about who to support in this election?
This is one of the most important elections in our lives. We stand less than 90 days away from the election, and we, as a country, cannot afford to sit this out.
