In celebration of the three year anniversary of President Obama’s election, we asked you to tell us where you were on Inauguration Day in 2009. Here are two of the Missourians who shared their memories of that historic day.
Olivia: “I was a junior in high school…the theatre held a live feed of the inauguration… I spent my free periods watching in awe as the splendor of the inauguration spread throughout D.C. Three years seem so long ago. I look forward to seeing what the rest of his [President Obama’s] term has in store and another 4 years after.”
Jullian: “I traveled with a friend from St. Louis to Washington, DC; we boarded the metro at 6:oo a.m. and eventually made our way to the Washington Monument. There were no strangers that day; we all listened, cheered, clapped, wept and hugged each other, filled with incredible joy and pride at being fellow Americans who had come together to elect President Barack Obama for a better, brighter future.”
To relive the moment and feel what it was like to be there, listen to three members of the 2008 campaign staff tell their Inauguration Day stories.
