I've been an organizer for a while, including on President Obama's 2008 campaign. But this campaign is special because we've started earlier and organized better than any campaign I've ever seen.
The President is spot on when he says that the campaign is about us. When I see the enthusiasm and excitement of people across Minnesota, I know that together we 're going to make sure President Obama is re-elected on November 6.
He's also right about the importance of starting early. It will take a grassroots team of volunteers even bigger than what we had in 2008 to respond to the millions of dollars in special interest funded negative ads we're going to face. This is why since last April we've been building neighborhood teams to make sure volunteer leaders are the driving force behind this campaign.
All the work is paying off, and there are neighborhood teams all over Minnesota fired up and ready to go. I hope you are too.
If you haven't already, I'm asking you to join a team near you for a day of action on May 19th. This will be the first of many opportunities for us to go into communities to tell voters how important it is to get out and vote on November 6th.
We'll knock on doors, we'll make calls, and we'll win.
May 19th is the kick-off to six months of work to leave no stone unturned, because this election, this country, is too important.
Are you in? Sign up for a volunteer shift on May 19th.
