Obama for America Southern Regional Director Tharon Johnson and South Carolina State Director Lee Goodall hosted a grand opening celebration Tuesday with the Charleston County Democratic Party for a new Low Country office that will serve as a hub for 2012 election activities throughout the region. Check out some highlights from the office opening below.
“It was great seeing old friends from 2008 and meeting the new Fall Fellows,” said Nora K., a local volunteer. “Charleston County Democrats are fired up and ready to win in 2012!”
“We’re excited to be joining with the Charleston County Democratic Party to bring volunteers and supporters together in the Low Country to help re-elect President Obama and talk about his plan to get Americans back to work,” said Goodall, who spoke at the event.
"The Low Country region is so important to us because it is a region that has shown a great deal of support for our President," said Johnson, who came to South Carolina from Obama’s re-election headquarters in Chicago to speak at the office opening. "No state is written off, every state is important. We have a 50-state strategy."
