• Letter of the week—April 9th, 2012

    Dear President Obama,

Hi. I am 13 (actually shook your hand a few years back; will never forget that!), live in Colorado, and would like to tell you a few things. First, I support you and Vice President Biden 100 percent and wish you the best in the upcoming election. I will do everything I can to get you re-elected.

The second matter involves the Affordable Care Act. I was on Yahoo Answers and came across someone who wanted to know how he could get help for two reasons: He was diabetic and overweight. My answer was very simple: Vote for Obama again. You are Obamacare. Insurance companies can't deny you for a pre-existing condition anymore.

So what I guess I'm trying to say, in short, is thank you. I don't know this person, but I can go to sleep knowing he can get insurance and doesn't need to worry about it—because of you, and the things you have done for our nation. I can't vote this election, but I'll do my best to make an impact. I want to make an impact because I want my children to grow up in a better economy than I have as a result of the failed policies of the Reagan and Bush eras. I have faith that you will create that better economy and world for my children.

Thank you, and best of luck in this election.

    Sincerely,

    Alec, Colorado
