This Tuesday, April 10th, young people will gather across Iowa for the OFA Iowa Greater Together Youth Summit. And we'll have a pair of special guests -- actor Kal Penn and OFA Battleground States Director Mitch Stewart will be joining us via livestream from Iowa City.
There's local summits happening across the state where you can join other students and young people to participate in the statewide livestream and talk about how we can organize young people in your community. We'll discuss our strategy for talking to folks about the President's accomplishments -- like student loan reform and affordable health care -- that have had a big impact here in Iowa.
This summit will be a great way to meet other leaders who are driving this movement in Iowa. Whether you're interested in volunteering, interning, or even just hearing what President Obama has done for young Americans, you'll come away excited to get involved in your community or on your campus.
In 2008, Iowa's young people from all regions and all backgrounds came out like never before and helped elect Barack Obama our nation's next president. And they proved that when we all work together, we can accomplish great things.
There's even more at stake this time around -- because all the progress we've made over the last four years will come down to this November. We've been hard at work here in Des Moines, and now it's time to kick it up to the next level for Democrats up and down the ticket.
