This week, supporters everywhere are gearing up for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Kimberley has been involved with the campaign since 2007, and she is eager to show her support in Charlotte for President Obama during her first Democratic Convention.
"I'm most excited to be able to show my support of the President and our party's progressive values that represent America as a whole, and I feel like this is something we can really be proud of."
As a Neighborhood Team Leader, Kimberley knows that Iowans can start voting in just three short weeks, and believes that it's important to vote for President Obama given what this upcoming election means to her.
"I think the number one thing at stake for me this election cycle is being a woman. Issues that have been solved and addressed years ago are coming back, and we are no longer being treated as individuals capable of making our own decisions by some lawmakers.
I knew in 2011 that it would be a challenge to get the president reelected, I knew I was going to have to work hard with the rest of our volunteers to maintain the lasting change that the President and I believe in.
It's amazing the power that we have here in Iowa to help Barack Obama come out successful -- we saw that four years ago, and now have the opportunity to do that again."
Even if you can't make it to Charlotte to join the President and Kimberley, there are still ways you can get in on the excitement. We have watch parties all over Iowa, find the closest one right now.
