On Sunday, Bloomington hosted the state's first Grassroots Planning Session (GPS). This critical meeting brought out a strong showing of Obama supporters, many for the first time since the 2008 campaign. Regardless of their level of involvement since the last presidential election, all attendees were excited to begin planning the local strategy for the 2012 campaign. The GPS attendees are ready to reconnect with their old campaign friends and welcome new volunteers to help build this campaign and be a part of this movement.
There will be other GPS meetings across the state to shape our road map to victory. This is where the planning starts and you need to be at the table. Information about the GPS in your area will be posted as soon as it is available. Check in.barackobama.com for updates and for events happening in your community.
