Wish you could be part of the action in London?
Well, I can't promise you a medal in beach volleyball or gymnastics, but there is a way to compete for a shot at glory through your grassroots fundraising page.
To celebrate from across the pond as we enter the final three months of this campaign, we've set up a new grassroots fundraising leaderboard. It's simple: The more contributions you get, the higher you climb on the virtual podium.
Here's how it works:
2 or more donations earn you a bronze medal
- 4 or more = silver
- 7 or more = gold!
Believe me, you definitely want to go for the gold. After the last medals in London are handed out, three of our grassroots fundraising gold medalists will be randomly selected to win a signed tweet from the President. With more than 18 million followers, that's quite a shout-out.
But the best part is that the donations you receive won't just earn you a spot on the leaderboard and bragging rights on Twitter—they'll also help hire more organizers, keep the lights on in field offices across the country, and build this grassroots campaign at a critical time.
There's more than a medal at stake, and the leaderboard will only stay up while the torch is lit in London through Sunday, August 12th, so don't wait to get a jump on the competition.
And if you don’t have a grassroots fundraising page, you can create yours here. Good luck!
No purchase, payment, or contribution necessary to enter or win. Contributing will not improve chances of winning. Void where prohibited. Entries must be received by August 12, 2012. You may enter by creating a Grassroots Fundraising Page here and raising contributions from at least 7 unique donors during the Promotion Period, or by registering here. Three (3) winners will each receive a Tweet with Twitter from President Barack Obama (approximate retail value of all prizes $0.00). Odds of winning depend on number of entries received. Promotion open only to U.S. citizens, or lawful permanent U.S. residents who are legal residents of 50 United States, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and 18 or older (or age of majority under applicable law). Promotion subject to Official Rules and additional restrictions on eligibility. Sponsor: Obama for America, 130 E. Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60601.
