This past Wednesday evening, Howard County celebrated President Obama’s 50th birthday in Columbia, one of dozens of house meetings throughout Maryland. State Delegate Guy Guzzone generously opened his house to over 100 supporters.
Guests started arriving before 7:00 and enjoyed snacks and drinks while meeting other supporters.
Delegate Guy Guzzone spoke to the packed house and introduced the other elected officials present, including State Delegate Shane Pendergrass and numerous representatives from the Howard County Democratic Central Committee. After, everyone gathered around the 2 screens to hear President Obama speak, where he thanked everyone and discussed the importance of the work ahead.
After President Obama spoke, we gathered to discuss the campaign moving forward, as well as the different initiatives to get his message out to our friends and neighbors. We then had some cake while new volunteers discussed the desire to get more involved with the President’s campaign in Howard County. From the way this house meeting went, it looks like we’re going to need a huge office in Howard County for all our volunteers!
