I have been inspired by Barack Obama since his speech at the Democratic Convention in 2004. I supported his 2008 campaign from the very beginning because I saw a man who would be a true leader in every sense of the word. At the time I was working 12 hours a day in the corporate worldand could only donate money to his campaign.
Having recently retired, I now have the opportunity and privilege of devoting my time and energy to the 2012 campaign. As a Spring Fellow, I am able to help ensure that President Obama has the time to finish the great work he has started in his first term.
After an initial organizing training, I continue to learn by doing. I am finding people who are excited about helping to reelect the President and having one-on-one meetings with them. Now my task is to keep these new volunteers excited and out registering new voters!
