• Americans begin to #GetCovered in the new marketplace

In just the first two days, more than 7 million people visited the online marketplace.

The new health insurance marketplace opened nationwide on October 1st, and one thing is clear: demand is high.

People who already have coverage and like their plans don’t need to do anything. But for the millions of uninsured Americans who have been going without coverage, the opening of the marketplace provides new, affordable options.

Leslie Foster, a 28-year old who lives in California, found a plan that works for him. "I liked the price, I liked the website, I looked [the insurance company] up on Yelp and I liked what people were saying about them," he said.

Daniel McNaughton, a 22-year-old college student in Orlando, Florida, also signed up this week, saying “I’m thrilled. To get something this good at that price? It was a complete surprise.”

These are just a few of the many people who checked out the choices for themselves. In just the first two days, more than 7 million people visited the new online marketplace.

Enrollment is open for six months—now through March.

If you've already signed up for health insurance on the new marketplace, or if you're planning to, you should share your story. Let your friends, family, and the people in your community know that the new marketplace is open for business and that Obamacare is working.
