Baton RougeTeam#1 held an “I’m In” and Voter Registration Drive at a local neighborhood convenience store in which the regional lead, a neighborhood team leader, a fall fellow and three volunteers worked very well together as a team.
We proceeded to the event thinking that it might be just two of us to work the event because volunteer recruitment had been very slow during the week. Much to our surprise, we had four more volunteers to arrive one by one. Not only that, three of them had worked long hours with us for the 2010 mid-term elections, and one has been working as a Fall Fellow.
We had lots of fun engaging voters and dialoguing with each other about campaigns of the past and election of President Obama in 2012.
One volunteer said that she hadn't had so much fun working on a team, talking with supporters and registering voters since she volunteered for a campaign back in the 70's. Now that's experience! The voters were very gracious and receptive to talk with us about being "IN". They left us with a very positive impression that they are overwhelmingly supportive of President Obama and proud of his many accomplishments. Like us on Facebook: Like Us American Jobs Act
