This past weekend Democrats and activists from all over the Palmetto State came out to take part in the many festivities that always surround Democratic weekend. Whether it was the Jefferson Jackson Dinner, Congressman Clyburn’s World Famous Fish Fry or the convention itself there was something for every Democrat to get involved in.
“This is where our grassroots movement begins. It’s the volunteers and activists in this room taking on leadership roles in their local communities that will determine the success of our efforts on the ground in 2012 and beyond," said Byron Wellman SC State Field Director.
Organizing for America-S.C. volunteers and staff participated in every event engaging supporters, collecting hundreds “I’m In” pledge cards supporting the President and other Democrats and recruiting volunteers to get active in their local communities. This type of grassroots engagement is going to help us to build the grassroots network needed help re-elect the President and other Democrats in 2012. Although November 6, 2012 of next year is still a long way out and we still have a lot of work to do. The campaign will be hosting numerous strategy sessions and trainings all across S.C. in the coming weeks that you may attend and learn more about the grassroots strategy that will help lead us to victory in 2012 and beyond.
