Mitt Romney is still claiming President Obama’s foreign policy has been to “go around the world and apologize for America,” even though three major news organizations have shot down this theory:
The New York Times says President Obama has offered a “robust defense” of U.S. policies since taking office.
The Washington Post finds that Romney’s claim is “not borne out by the facts.”
And Politifact calls the former governor’s statement “pants on fire” false.
Despite the facts, Romney keeps repeating the lie. Just this weekend, at a campaign stop in Iowa, Romney said, “That’s why when the president went around at the beginning of his term and apologized for America around the world, it made us just heartsick. I will never apologize for the greatness of the United States of America.”
It’s just another example of his campaign strategy to say anything to get elected even if it means ignoring the truth.
