There is a clear difference between President Obama and Mitt Romney when it comes to prioritizing help for our nation’s homeless veterans. Committed to keeping the sacred trust we hold with the Americans that serve our country, President Obama’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is working to eliminate homelessness among veterans by 2015.
Mitt Romney, however, told his high-dollar donors that he’d consider eliminating HUD, saying it “might not be around later.” He even once raised the idea of privatizing veterans’ health care.
Romney’s extreme proposal would end HUD’s current success and jeopardize future help for these veterans in need.
