Always confirm everyone you have scheduled to attend an event. A simple phone call can dramatically increase the percentage of scheduled attendees who actually show up to the event.
While you are on the phone, be sure to give a reminder of the location and time of the event. Let the volunteer know that you're counting on their help, and never forget to say 'Thank you.'
