Mindy Cohen had a vision for a coworking space in Reading, PA that would support the community and foster creativity. Last year, Mindy’s vision came to life when she and her partners swung open the doors to the T.E.A. Factory Co., where they provide office space and support to freelancers, budding entrepreneurs, and other small businesses.

“We have techies, artists, an astrophysicist, grad students, poets, dance classes in the evening, and a tiny recording studio. I sold the jewelry that I had from my grandmother to make this happen. And it just took off. My goal is for it to sustain itself and serve more and more people.”

Mindy is grateful that the President supports small business owners like her and her husband, who makes custom motorcycles, through the Affordable Care Act.

“During the first campaign President Obama inspired me with his rhetoric. This time he inspired me with his deeds. I think it’s wonderful that he’s made it affordable for small business owners to have health insurance. Unfortunately he gets a lot of bad press, but he’s done a lot of incredible things while in office. I believe we need four more years of Obama in the White House. I think it’s critical.”

Mindy Cohen is a small business owner and volunteer for Obama. To get involved in your neighborhood, sign up to volunteer, or find an event near you.
