Accomplishment No. 2: Middle Class Tax Cuts

Upon taking office, President Obama cut taxes for 95% of working families, saving the typical couple in Nevada $800. Over the course of his entire first term, typical middle class families have seen their taxes decrease by $3,600 and President Obama isn't done. He's continuing to fight for an extension of middle class tax cuts.
In contrast, Mitt Romney’s tax plan would remove temporary tax breaks for the middle class (like the tax credit for higher education and the child tax credit—actually raising taxes for millions of families making less than $75,000). Additionally, Romney would cut taxes for corporations, and extend the Bus tax cuts that overwhelming benefit the wealthy and drive up our deficit.
The average effect of Romney’s plan for those making more than a million dollars would be a tax cut of $146,000.
Meanwhile, under this same plan, the typical middle class family in Nevada would only see a break of $138 and a typical middle class family in Nevada with kids would actually pay $34 more dollars in taxes.
