With Paul Ryan on the ticket, Mitt Romney is doubling down on his effort in Wisconsin -- just like they're doubling down on their top-down approach to economic security. And it's up to us -- the folks building this organization -- to keep them from gaining ground. If you needed that one extra push to step up and get involved, this is it.

Since the primaries, Romney has rarely missed an opportunity to run hard to the right -- whether that's meant promising to undo health care reform, or declaring we need fewer teachers, firefighters, and police officers. I know some people, both on the right and the left, thought that Romney might soften his "severely conservative" positions in the general election.
By naming Ryan as his VP pick, Romney's done the opposite. He doubled down on his support of the failed policies of the past. We know exactly what a Romney-Ryan White House would mean for Wisconsin and the country: exploding deficits, gutted investments in education and infrastructure, and huge tax breaks for the wealthiest at the expense of the middle class.
We have the next 85 days to build support for President Obama and other Democrats, and give ourselves four more years to keep moving the country forward. It's going to take all hands on deck.
Thanks, and see you out there.
