• Young Americans for Obama Get Involved in Their Communities

    Allen University

Precious W., a senior at Allen University and a volunteer with the Obama campaign in Columbia, is helping to engage and mobilize young people to work together to build a future based on values they believe in. The Obama campaign’s Greater Together initiative targets young Americans between the ages of 18-29, including first-time voters who weren’t 18 in 2008, as well as college students, returning vets, young professionals and those who didn’t attend college.

Together with her peers at Allen University, Precious recently hosted a voter registration and pledge card drive on campus. They talked with other young voters to update their voter registration information and share the stories of how young Americans across the country have benefitted from President Obama’s policies.

"I feel great being a part of this movement and being able to show other young people the time to act is now,” Precious said. “We are doing great work, and it’s even greater because we are doing it together."
