• Joni from Dayton: An Educator for Obama

A teacher for 26 years in Dayton’s public schools, Joni Watson works everyday to improve the lives of Ohio’s youth.

She knows President Obama has her back, but isn’t so sure about Mitt Romney.

“I don’t think that Mitt Romney really understands the working class. I don’t think that he understands me.”

From saying that classroom sizes don’t matter to claiming America needs less teachers, firefighters, and policeman, Mitt Romney’s shown he’s not only out of touch with folks like Joni, but that his policies would throw Ohio’s teachers under the bus.

“President Obama understands what it’s like to be me. He understands what it’s like to be a middle class family and [have] middle class values.”

During last year’s battle over collective bargaining rights waged by Gov. Kasich and supported by Mitt Romney, Joni started to fight back, and she hasn’t stopped since.

“I believe that as a good citizen, and as a teacher and a mother and a wife, we always have to fight for our rights.”

Mitt Romney doesn’t understand what it’s like for Joni and her husband to put a daughter through college, and he doesn’t support Ohio’s teachers.
