Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work on a presidential campaign? You now have a the opportunity to find out firsthand with the Obama organizing fellowship. The fellowship is designed to train and develop the next generation of community organizers here in New Hampshire.
Many of our staff got their start with the fellowship program. Organizers like Lucia, who worked with us as a fall fellow. Just back from studying abroad, she saw the fellowship as a perfect place to put her degree to use. From meeting volunteers one on one to building neighborhood teams, Lucia learned the basics of organizing in her community. And it was just the beginning. “I was already having fun doing the work, and wasn’t ready to quit after just three months.”
Lucia applied for a field organizer position and now organizes for the Obama campaign in her hometown of Portsmouth. In her job, she puts those skills she learned as a fellow to good use, engaging voters and empowering volunteers.
The hours can be odd, or long, but I've picked up valuable skills that I improve on every day. [The fellowship] is the best thing you can do if you want to learn about the political process and the inner workings of a national campaign.
Are you ready to take the next step and become a key part of building this campaign? Apply for the Obama organizing fellowship today. And get your start by joining us for an upcoming primary event in your community.
