• Mother's Day fact 3: President Obama intervened when NH Executive Council disrupted health funding

When 4,000 Granite State women had their health care disrupted because New Hampshire’s Executive Council denied Planned Parenthood funding, President Obama stepped in to ensure women would continue to receive the care they need.

An Obama administration grant restored $1 million in funding helping 16,000 New Hampshire families who rely on Planned Parenthood to access the care they need.

This grant from Title X Family Planning funds restores these critical services, including life-saving cancer screenings, well woman care, access to birth control, disease prevention and basic exams through the end of 2012

Would Mitt Romney have done the same thing? He's got a pretty choice quote on the issue:

“My test is pretty simple. Is the program so critical, it's worth borrowing money from China to pay for it? And on that basis of course you get rid of Obamacare, that's the easy one. But there are others. Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that.

Note: this is the third in a series of posts highlighting what President Obama has accomplished for women since last Mother's Day. We'll post one of these a day through Sunday. Here's yesterday's post.
