• What does the end of the Iraq war mean to you?

After nine years of brave service and sacrifice from our troops and their families, President Obama has brought the Iraq War to an end.

In the next two weeks the last U.S. forces will leave the country and our troops will be home in time for the holidays. As we mark this important moment many Floridians have shared what it means to them.

It means a promise kept for Preston B., a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

President Obama made a promise that he will end this war in Iraq and bring our troops home, and he kept his word!

For Adina J. it means bringing her family together again.

My brother is coming home and I am very happy!

Jenny S. in Ft. Lauderdale won't forget the bravery of those who served.

We should never forget the sacrifice the brave men and women have done to give us our freedom. It brings joy to my heart to see the conclusion to this war. It's the right thing to do.

Cynthia C. in Deerfield Beach is grateful for the sacrifices made.

It means that all those so willing to serve and give of themselves so selflessly with full knowledge of the position they place themselves in may finally make it back home to the people they love and who love them, safely and, God willing, for good.
