    Q1. What does a day at work look like to you?
    My morning starts with recapping our numbers for field, political, and Operation Vote—the folks who reach out to different constituency groups—from the day before. Then, I read through the clips and the updates from our staff. The rest of the day I work to help make sure our efforts in Ohio are integrated across each department—working to proactively spread the word about the President’s accomplishments that have helped Ohio, and responding to any attacks or mischaracterizations from the other side. I get to work with the best staff and volunteers in the country and build a broad coalition that will help us win Ohio.

    Q2. How did you first come to the campaign?
    I first got into “campaigns” as an 8-year-old. My mom was a public school teacher whose district had to keep placing levies on the ballot to help fund the school system. I was kind of a hyperactive kid, so my mom would take me on the door-to-door efforts to help get the word out about the school funding—then, on Election Day, I would stand outside of my mom’s school (a local polling site) and encourage voters to vote for the school levy. I did this for a few years, and doing so I developed an appreciation for the social interaction of campaigning. I learned early that elections matter, whether they be at the local level for your school district or for president.

    Flash forward a couple years: I was working for Governor Ted Strickland in Ohio, and when the general election got started I joined the campaign. My background is doing field work.

    Q3. What's your favorite part of your job?
    My favorite thing is traveling around Ohio and meeting our amazing neighborhood team leaders, and hearing about the impact of the President’s decision to save the U.S. auto industry from the workers and families directly impacted. They have such moving stories, and the impact of the President’s decisions on them personally and on their community is clear.

    Q4. What's the most unexpected part of your job?
    The unexpected happens every day—that is both the fun and the stressful part about the job. The challenge is to both continue with our day-to-day objectives while responding quickly and effectively.

    Q5. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
    I hold the record among our staff for knowing the most trivial facts about the Buckeye State!
