“I may not have 10 million dollars to smear someone on television, but my ten dollars matters—it says I have a voice. And if we have enough voices, we can overcome those smear ads and super PAC spending. Ten thousand ten-dollar donations say a lot more than one ten-million-dollar donation. That’s because ‘one man, one vote’ is not dead. This election cannot be bought.

“I will not sit back and let this country elect Mitt Romney without me taking any action. The economy was destroyed on the Republicans’ watch. In 2008 they didn’t ask ‘How can we help?’ Their goal from day one was to destroy President Obama and if it meant the economy goes with it, so be it. I will not remain silent. I will influence as many people as I can: my friends, my family, my neighbors.”

—Robert, a sales associate from Colorado
