Virginians gave President Obama a huge grassroots birthday gift this past week: the opening of 7 new campaign offices in Chesapeake, Herdon/Reston, Halifax, Lynchburg, Fluvanna, Emporia, and Mt. Vernon.

Aaron, a Halifax supporter, said of the Halfax opening, “There couldn’t be a better day to open a new Obama office than on President Obama’s birthday. Folks are fired up and ready to get Barack Obama in for another four years to keep this economy going in the right direction.”

Other folks were really inspired by the show of support for Mr. Obama. Connie at the Chesapeake office opening said, “The place was packed! There’s a lot of enthusiasm and inspiring comments from local supporters and leaders."

Small business owner Marie from Palmyra came to show her pride in President Obama:

“I have a restaurant, so I’m a small business owner for Obama. There’s a lot of misinformation out there, people saying that he’s bad for small businesses like mine, but I know that unless you’re a really big fish, unless you’re making over $250,000 a year, you’re not going to be touched. In fact I know that his policies benefit me!”
