Tu Bishvat, the Jewish new year of trees, celebrates nature. But it also reminds us that we have a responsibility to be wise stewards of the planet.

President Obama's environmental leadership incorporates the spirit of Tu Bishvat.

President Obama has made the environment a priority by working to promote energy independence and investing in clean-energy jobs. He collaborated with the Environmental Protection Agency to protect the quality of our air by clearing the skies of pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants, and he has proposed improvements to fuel economy standards which would raise them to 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025 and reduce our consumption of foreign oil and emissions of greenhouse gases.

This Tu Bishvat, we can celebrate our President’s commitment to Jewish values. Together with the President, we can continue to promote the policies and values that we celebrate on Tu Bishvat.
