The Legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen
By on
My grandfather served this country as a soldier in the Korean War. It was the courage, dedication, and excellence of African-American servicemen and women like him that allows all Americans to enjoy the freedoms we have today, and that paved the way for African Americans to serve their country with dignity. That’s what the Tuskegee Airmen did. Not only did they escort bombers safely home, but they escorted the African-American community and the American family into a more just and equal future. President Obama and The First Lady recently welcomed the Tuskegee Airmen to the White House. Watch the video of their visit, and share it with your family and friends.
