Responses to Sandy's letter have been pouring in all day from supporters across the country. Here are just a few of the folks who are standing with Sandy and President Obama:

"I want to tell you how much it means to me that President Obama ‘gets it.’ The convention speeches, this letter and other emails, the President’s thoughts and words—this race is about so much more than just the economy or foreign policy or healthcare. It is really about deciding whether we’re going to act based on character and integrity.

"Thank you again for forwarding this letter, and thanks for ‘getting it.’"
    —Wes, North Carolina

"WOW! I just made a $30 contribution: $15 from me and a $15 match in the name of Sandy in PA—what an inspiration she is! Isn't she doing what we all believe in—giving as much as she can and sacrificing for the good of our nation? Shouldn't we who have a little more contribute for her as well? Let's start a 'Sandy Match' to finish off the month in the spirit of helping others to realize the dream of another four years for President Obama!"
    —Alice, Florida

"In response to Sandy's letter to the President, I just made the maximum contribution possible to the Obama campaign. I did it because I remember when I was where Sandy is too. I am grateful to live in a country that values all of our citizens and to live where people recognize that we have a real responsibility to all of the people including those who have not yet been as fortunate as some of the rest of us."
    —Mike, Ohio

"This letter explains just how we feel. We are behind him every step. I have never given money to any national campaign before. I have pledged a small amount to this campaign. I wish it would be a thousand times more."
    —Cindy, North Carolina

"I have a similar story, and I have a feeling about 3 million others do as well."
    —Margaret, Texas

"I just read a letter on line from a Sandy and family in PA about her contribution and only being able to send $15.00. I then realized that we all feel this way and when we contribute to this campaign we are sincere and encouraged about supporting our President. We too contributed, and $60.00 is not much, but to us it is a whole lot. Like Sandy stated, it is groceries, gas, our electricity bill etc."
    —Pamela, California

"Thank you for the accompanying letter from Sandy and her family about their $15 donation! I like her take on life. I particularly enjoyed Sandy's words 'the bellowing voices of private interest to drown out the sounds of tiny voices (like ours/mine)' because that's what I've been thinking, too."
    —Julie, Colorado
