The Obama 2012 Runway to Win design challenge is in full swing, but the deadline for entries is coming up fast. To get your creative juices flowing, between now and the May 1st submission deadline we’ll be featuring just a few of the designs submitted so far.

Phil Fung from Florida painted this watercolor print for the contest—and told the story behind his art:

I was inspired to do that painting since the first time I saw President Obama walk onto the national stage at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was such a breath of fresh air and that quote, "There are no red states or blue states, just the United States," was a unifying message that so many young people like myself wish more people in politics embraced. I support the President because I can see him trying to fix the problems that face our country. He does this with diligence and dignity—and I appreciate that.

I think art can have a positive effect. It can encompass the spirit of hope and optimism that a current generation of voters have for the future.

Now it’s your turn. You only have until May 1st to enter the Runway to Win design challenge, so start designing now.
