Vice President Biden and President Obama at the podium

President Obama is asking Congress to urgently introduce measures to reduce gun violence and keep our children and communities safe. Give your members of Congress a call to let them know you support President Obama’s plan and ask if they’re on board.

You can call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 to be connected to your senator’s or representative’s office. If you’re not sure who to call, you can look up who your representative is here and your senators here.

And you can use this simple script:

Hi, My name is [your name] and I’m a voter in your [state or district]. I’m calling to let you know that I support President Obama’s plan to reduce gun violence and want to know whether [name of your senator or representative] does too?

Then be sure to report back on the conversation.
