On Saturday, supporters and volunteers helped us celebrate the opening of a brand new field office on Sycamore Street in Petersburg. Originally planned for the indoors, the noon-time ceremony had to be moved outside because of the overwhelming turnout.
Pam H. a 30-year resident of Petersburg said of the event:
I'm proud that the campaign has opened up an office so early in Petersburg. We were overwhelmingly behind Barack Obama in 2008, but that doesn’t mean that we should take anything for granted. We have to continue to get the word out. This office will definitely help us do that.
Regional Field Director Fancy Greenwood:
This is just the beginning. Yes, it's February, but we've still got a lot to do before the election. If you've been thinking about getting involved, now is the time to do it.
Thanks to Congressman Bobby Scott, Mayor Brian Moore, Virginia Democratic Party Chairman Brian Moran, and all of our guests for joining us in Petersburg.
Fancy Greenwood is absolutely right: This is just the beginning. Help us build our campaign in your neighborhood. Sign up today.
