Paul Ryan vs. the environment
By on
Here's something that should make the idea of a Romney administration even scarier to any friend of the environment:
Paul Ryan in the number two seat.
His record on the environment isn't just extreme -- and boy is it extreme -- it's downright dangerous. This is a guy who has actually accused climate scientists of conspiring to "intentionally mislead the public on the issue of climate change," and implied that snow challenges the validity of global warming.
The bottom line? A Romney-Ryan administration would be one of the most extreme on the environment in recent memory -- and it's on us to make sure they don't get the chance to take us back.

Here's another reason why this is so important: When it comes to being bad for clean energy progress, Romney and Ryan are already in lock step. Rather than focusing on creating jobs here at home, Gov. Romney has said he'd get rid of the same wind energy production tax credit Ryan voted against in the past -- which could cost up to 37,000 American jobs if allowed to expire.
The rest of Paul Ryan's voting record shows just how far he's willing to go to protect polluters, even if it means jeopardizing our health and the economy along the way.
Here's just a snapshot of what he's voted to eliminate while in Congress -- buckle up:
-- Tax credit extensions for wind energy and other renewable sources
-- Light bulb efficiency standards
-- EPA limits on carbon pollution
-- Adaptation efforts to prepare for climate change
That's the kind of extreme right-wing agenda we'd be facing if Paul Ryan becomes the next president's right-hand man. We can't let that happen -- we've got two and a half months to get as many folks as possible who care about the environment fired up and ready to fight for it.
