The Nebraska campaign kicked off this week with a great event on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). Nebraska State Director Zack Burgin and the Executive Director of the Douglas County Democratic Party, Kieran McCarney, partnered with the UNO College Democrats to get college students to pledge to vote in 2012.

A total of 119 students pledged their support, and 25 of them became new volunteers with the campaign. We served free hot cider and treats and gave them an opportunity to pose for a picture with a cutout of President Obama. The event far surpassed our goal for the day and we had a lot of fun talking to students (and drinking that delicious cider)! Big thanks go out to the UNO College Democrats for all their behind-the-scenes work in preparing for the event. We are excited to work with them again in the future!
