From celebrating President Obama’s 51st birthday with student leaders in Chapel Hill to performing for a full house at the Arts Center in Carrboro, Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Janelle Monáe had a busy day meeting with young people in North Carolina this past Saturday.

As part of the Gotta Vote Concert and Youth Summit, Janelle Monáe talked with students and young supporters about the choice in this election—and how registering to vote is the first step to having your vote count.

Check out a recap of the day, as told by Tweets and photos, then make sure you have all the facts by visiting GottaVote.org.
