    Alan, a veteran from Michigan

“I served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1981 to 1986. In the time since then, I’ve been committed to addressing the unique challenges my community faces when they return home.

“President Obama made access to health care a top priority, from providing stable funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs to expanding mental health care treatment for PTSD. The one accomplishment I always go back to when talking about all that President Obama has done for us is the extension of VA benefits to Priority 8 veterans—those who were locked out of the system for exceeding an income level and not having a service-connected disability.

“Time and time again, President Obama has demonstrated how committed he is to upholding our country’s sacred trust with veterans like myself, wounded warriors, and their families.”

    —Alan, Michigan
