Here at campaign HQ, we receive hundreds of letters and emails from supporters every week. In the last few days since President Obama's address to Congress to introduce the American Jobs Act, however, people have been writing in by the thousands to let the President know they're standing behind him.

Here's one of our favorite emails, which came in just a few hours after last week's speech:

    Dear Mr. President,

This is a first for me…writing to my President. You are also the first person I ever knocked on doors for, made phone calls for, and marched in parades for—and I’m 63! I’ve always voted in all elections, but it wasn’t until you came along that I wanted to do whatever I could to help you get elected.

Tonight you reminded me just why I felt it was so important. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to think. My expectations were lower than usual, but your speech gave me chills, brought tears to my eyes, and made me feel proud. My husband and I called our 29 year-old daughter right afterward, and she felt the same way we did.

Please know there are many of us out here who support the way you spoke tonight. You made such good points, and we hope you continue to do so. We understand compromise is necessary at times, but it was refreshing to hear you speak up for your beliefs and to hear you trying to get people thinking about things like which is more important—tax breaks for the rich or teachers with jobs.

Thank you so much for all you do for us and for our country!

    Sincerely,

    Wendy
