Here at President Obama's campaign headquarters, we receive hundreds of letters (and photos) from supporters each week. Vicki wrote in response to an email thanking her for her support.

Dear Mr. President,

I really appreciate you or your staff contacting me, even if via email, to say thank you. That in and of itself is personally historic!

There is so much opposition from many sides—I bet it can get really overwhelming at times. Don't let it get you down. Continue to stand tall. Being a li’l old treasurer in a Parent Teacher Organization gave me a taste of what politics is about, and in all cases politics always affect children indirectly.

I'm just happy you took the time to say thank you.

So, let me take the time to say you're welcome.
