Rosalind, a volunteer leader with OFA-Pennsylvania, is committed to raising her children as active citizens.

“When I was growing up, my community did a great job of teaching me about the importance of voting and playing an active role in the political process. My high school vice principal would meet students on their 18th birthday with a voter registration form in his hand. I remember feeling so excited and proud about finally being old enough to cast my ballot. Generations of Americans have fought for the rights we have, and we honor their memory when we use those rights.

“Now that I’m a mother, it’s important to me that I pass on that same sense of duty to my children. They need to understand that when you see a problem, you don’t complain about it—you do something about it. America is a country that is always moving forward, but it takes hard work to get there. We volunteer together each week for the campaign registering voters and getting the word out about the great job President Obama is doing. When we elect this President to four more years in office, my children will feel a sense of ownership in that victory and know that they made a difference.”
