Thanks to President Obama’s health care law, insurance companies can’t deny coverage to children with pre-existing conditions—and soon that rule will apply to all Americans with pre-existing conditions.

    • 48 percent to 86 percent of adults between the age of 55 and 64 have some type of pre-existing condition.

    • 15 percent to 30 percent of people in perfectly good health today are likely to develop a pre-existing condition over the next eight years.

    • Starting in 2014, all Americans with a pre-existing condition can no longer be denied coverage.

Find out how the Affordable Care Act helps you and your family.
