Five things you should know before casting your ballot

This election is a choice between two fundamentally different visions for America, and President Obama has made it a priority to keep the sacred trust we hold with our troops and their families. Here are a few things you should know before casting your ballot.
1. President Obama responsibly ended the war in Iraq, is bringing our troops home from Afghanistan, and will use half the savings to reduce the deficit and the rest to engage in nation-building here at home.
Mitt Romney criticized the end of the Iraq war as "tragic," and has offered no plan to withdraw our troops from Afghanistan.
2. President Obama is committed to ensuring that veterans and service members can get an education and find work when they return from service—that's why he implemented and expanded the post-9/11 G.I. Bill, which has helped more than 800,000 veterans and their families pursue an education.
Mitt Romney would slash domestic investments so drastically that, if cuts are applied across the board, funding for Veterans Affairs would have to be cut by 19%, or $11 billion a year.
3. Under President Obama, we've seen 32 straight months of job growth, adding 5.4 million private sector jobs, including nearly 479,000 manufacturing jobs – the most growth since 2010.
Mitt Romney wants to return to the failed top-down policies that crashed the economy. And his 160-page, 59-point “Plan For Jobs and Economic Growth,” does not mentions veterans once.
4. President Obama signed two tax credits into law for businesses that hire unemployed veterans and wounded warriors, and proposed a Veterans Job Corps to put vets back to work as cops, firefighters, and protecting our public lands.
Mitt Romney hasn’t proposed any significant plan to directly put veterans back to work, and his allies in Congress blocked the Veterans Job Corps bill.
5. President Obama cut taxes by $3,600 for the typical middle class family making $50,000 a year over his first term.
Mitt Romney's plan could require raising taxes on middle class families with kids by $2,000 to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.
