"Today's my first time volunteering for the campaign. One of my friends has been involved since the beginning of the year, and she was asking people to help out for today, and I jumped on board. I'm passing out water to make sure people in line are hydrated. It's been a good time so far, and I'll probably volunteer again.

"I'm volunteering because President Obama has worked to make college more affordable, and he's fought for my rights as a woman that Mitt Romney would take away if he were elected. Everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, and Romney wouldn't support them."

—Lana, a student, pitched in to lend a hand at President Obama's event in Bowling Green, Ohio
